72" Wide-Format, 12 Color Display Maker

Designed around 12, nearly 1" wide, high-frequency print-heads, this machine can be configured with one or more four-, six-, eight-, or 12-color ink sets. Users can select from print modes that regulate the number of print passes, from 2 to 12.

The DisplayMaker Mach 12 is capable of speeds in excess of 400 square feet per hour in four-color “economy” mode, 600-dpi output. It can print a 24x36" photo-quality poster in less than one minute, a 30x40" backlit in 2.5 minutes, or an 18x24" fine art reproduction on canvas in less than four minutes.

Redesigned for higher productivity and lower cost of operation, the DisplayMaker Mach 12 Modular Ink Delivery System includes high-capacity ink supply reservoirs, semi-permanent ink supply lines, and thermal inkjet print-heads. The unit’s 960ml ink reservoirs reportedly can be “hotswapped” while printing. The semi-permanent ink supply lines are user-replaceable, and the core of the ink system consists of a dozen high-density print-heads.

An LCD touch screen presents all frequently used functions on a single screen. When users load media, the printer automatically adjusts the print-head height to accommodate media up to 0.125" thick.

The device also is equipped with an enhanced generation of ColorSpan’s “Automation Eye” on-board camera and diagnostic firmware.  The Automation Eye enables on-line and automatic measurements and adjustments to maintain accurate printing and predictable color.

We have powered it up and all of its boot up processes appear to be operating properly.  This system was sent to us with no ink.  There was, however, enough ink in the unit for us to print the color bands.

Modular Ink Delivery System - A three piece ink system consisting of a 960 ml ink reservoir, semi-permanent supply tubing and state-of-the-art thermal inkjet printhead. Ink reservoirs can be 'hot swapped' while printing for maximum productivity. Printheads are replaced independently of ink modules and typically last through multiple liters of ink, thereby significantly reducing operating costs.

Dual Automation Eye - Two image sensors and sophisticated software are used to automate the calibration tasks required to maintain good print quality and accurate color reprodution. With a touch of a button, all 12 printheads are aligned with digital accuracy and over 6000 jets are analyzed. Any jets that are out of specification are replaced with others to eliminate printing artifacts and extend the life of the printheads. When used with a ColorSpan RIP, these high quality sensors also perform color linearization and double as a color spectrophotometer to create you own color profiles.

Tilt-Up Carriage Assembly - For easy access, the carriage assembly can be tilted up to expose the bottom sides of the printheads and image sensors for periodic cleaning without affecting printhead alignment and calibration.

Media Wizard Feature - Stores media feed calibration, head height, and optimum platen vacuum settings from each media, greatly reducing the time to switch between media while reducing media waste.

72" (183cm) Print Width - Industry leading 72" width permits double-up production of E-sized (34" x 44") or AO-sized (841mm x 1189mm) prints or wall-size murals with minimal tiling.
